pg 486

Today I met "Theodore Bartholomew Waites, but you damn better call me T Bar." Immediately fell in love with that name, his skinny tie and his story. Originally from Montana he moved to LA and got into the import business, "ever since God invented hippies" T Bar has been supplying the incense. The character Duncan paints of this urban cowboy resembles a very grown up version of Woody from Toy Story. Only T Bar has a much better sense of style and a whole different set of one-liners awaiting a brash introduction to the world as soon as someone has enough courage to tug on his string. What he is doing in a third class train car in the middle of India, breathing the same sweaty, sticky air as Peter Chance? I have yet to know. I feel as if I am about to embark on a cattle drive full of pot smoking, tie-dye wearing, Frisbee throwing beef steers. Who not only understand the idea of free-range but have tied it into the concepts of free love.
